Wonderful podcast. They typically tell a few different short stories every week but will sometimes focus on one longer story. They have made me laugh and also have brought me to tears. Meaningful reporting and investigative journalism at its finest.
The elder statesman of podcasting has not lost its touch or panache for telling some of the most interesting and compelling stories in any medium. While every episode is at least above average, when This American Life hits on a good story, it's talked about the world over.
This show really drags you into the story. It's always a pleasure to listen to it.
Always a staple in the public radio community now I can listen to my favorite episodes in podcast form. Enjoyable, informing, and always allows me to enjoy a good listen, Ira Glass is always on point.
This American Life is always my go-to when I want to listen to a podcast but don't know what I'm in the mood to listen to. The show has such a wide range of stories, but they're all produced so well that, even if it's a topic I perhaps wouldn't have chosen to listen to otherwise, I find myself completely enveloped in the story. Thank you to the This American Life team for capturing such a wide range of stories, experiences, and people.
This is another show that will continue to delight. More journalistic than personal stories but the pay off is the connection to current events and society. I would recommend starting with a "Best of" list and then listening to episodes as they interest you.4/5 good ole fashioned radio shows phoenix-ed into a new medium
I listen to this podcast every week. Taking the normal and turning it into wonderful indepth and connected stories is what they do, and they do it extremely well!
A straight up classic. Various stories based on a central theme, though I would argue that theme is very loosely based sometimes. Still this is the show that is the most consistent out there. I do feel like they re-release shows too often though.
The original storytelling radio show and podcast. Ira Glass and his team of reporters have taught me more about the world than just about any other source. The empathy that Ira shows in regards to every single topic never ceases to make this show one of the very best.
I have a list of interests around which I gather podcasts and select episodes. But I always let TAL take me 'on an journey' without checking the description of its episodes. TAL pulls me into the stories they tell and at the end I'm, without fail, glad I was part of the trip.
When they create a podcast hall of fame, it will be named after Ira Glass and this radio show will be the first one inducted.
I had a terrible credit score, dead credit profile... But after so many reviews on Disqus, I had to use their service to fix my credit. I thought they weren't really going to do anything but to my biggest surprise I got notifications from IdentityIQ my negatives are falling off and my score improved by 288pts in a few days. 760 Plus Credit Score as the name implies is simply the best credit repair team. Ira is the best. I have been listening since the NPR days. Good stories and so consistent. ?
First podcast I ever listened to, over twenty years ago, and I still listen to this day.
A MUST READ FOR ANYONE WHO HAS EVER FALLEN FOR CRYPTO SCAM BEFORE!!!My $1.65 million dolllars was stolen by a phoney wallet that refused to let me withdraw it. Their moniker was Coinbox/vip. When I launch the browser on my phone, the platforms page opens with the Coinbase logo. The legal description of their app wallet mentions Coinbase, and the help centre button links to Coinbase help. However, when I contacted Coinbase, they responded via email that they are not affiliated with Coinbox. Coinbox has now informed me that I must pay a 185k tax before receiving my funds. I immediately opened a case with Owlet tech recovery . com, a guaranteed recovery company, they patched me through MR MORRIS GRAY their smart contract developers on Whatsapp with [+1 (607) 698 0239 ] who then immediately performed a smart contract audit using digital triangulation from outsourced wallets. I’m crying right now as I just received a deposit of 127.4 Btc in my trust wallet. I’m now waiting for the Ethereum gas fee to come through so I can detach the remaining from outsourced wallets. his Email is: Morrisgray 830 @ gmail . com...
Such great storytelling!
You'll love it! If you like Serial, you'll enjoy this podcast. Different themes and stories every week, I look forward to Monday morning drives to work just for this.
This is a consistently good show. I do wish more episodes expanded on the intro. Ep 836 did this very well by continuing the intro into Act 01. I like that because I often find myself getting caught up in the intro story only to say hey what happened when the narrative changes to Act 01. 836 didn't do this for the first time and I loved that.
